**Your role**:
Within the MSAT (Manufacturing Science And Technology) Laboratory team, you are in charge of following upstream laboratory projects and participating in experimental activities in order to support process improvements, investigations or validations for the production of our marketed products.

**Job Requirements**:

- Perform laboratory activities to ensure process troubleshooting and improvement. You generate, treat, and analyze the experimental data to support scientific discussions (experimental design, statistical treatment).
- Lead development and supportive projects by writing experiments protocols and reports, executing laboratories activities while coordinating analysis.
- Perform and/or participate to scale down model development and qualification projects to ensure an efficient support to the manufacturing scale.
- Lead Process transfer activities from the BioProcess Sciences department to the MSAT to support future marketed products.
- Contribute to the evaluation and implementation of advanced technologies such as PAT.
- Work in a GLP environment using adequate documentation to ensure activities traceability and respect quality standards of Merck.
- Actively participate and improve the 5S of the laboratory to maintain workplace and equipment.
- Act as a referent for the other team members for complex topics and best industry practices.
- Work in close collaboration with the different groups within the MSAT organization (Process Expertise; Process Validation & Controls and Site Project Managers, Global MSAT) as well as other partners (Production units and BioProcess Sciences). You may also collaborate with other Merck entities.

**Who you are**:
University degree in Life science (MSc, PhD, Engineering schools, HES...) with 7 to 10 years of

experience in biotechnology industry, preferably in process development or manufacturing.

Good knowledge of cell culture processes and technologies, particularly in bioreactors

Good knowledge of statistical tools

Awareness of pharmaceutical industry (GMP) requirements

Rigorous and organized, with a good ability to work in a team

Fluency in oral and written French

Fluency in oral and written English
