The internship is located at the Office of the Director, Division of Administration, United Nations Office in Geneva (UNOG). Work within the Division includes areas such as Human Resources, Finance, Central Support Services, ICT and the Strategic Heritage Plan. The intern will report to the Programme Management Officer and may also on occasion support other members of the Office of the Director.

The internship is proposed for a period of 3 to 6 months, starting in mid-August 2023 or later.

The internship is not paid and is on a full-time basis (five days per week).

**Responsibilities**:
The intern will support the ongoing work of the Office of the Director, Division of Administration. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

- Research and analysis to support innovation in administrative service provision and management as well as client satisfaction
- Implementation of projects, such as to improve hybrid conference organization at the UN in Geneva
- Assist in the organization and servicing of workshops and support to meetings, ensuring record-keeping and follow-up
- Assist in planning and implementing client engagement activities
- Support communication and outreach
- Support to other activities and projects, as need arises

Education

To qualify for an internship with the United Nations, applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent).
- Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter; and,
- Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

Work Experience

Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position(s) advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an advantage.
