**Location: Lausanne**

**Job Purpose**:
Execute the experimental plan in the Microbiology Laboratory, which involves cultivating, identifying, characterizing and storing microbial strains (cryostock) and working with both aerobic and anaerobic pure and mixed cultures.

**Your Responsibilities**:

- Handle the daily operations of the microbial biobank, including reception, registration, cryostock preparation and preservation, culture media preparation, and sample preparations for intra
- and inter-site dispatch.
- Conduct microbial cultures e.g. in petri dishes, broth cultures, multiwell plates etc.
- Conduct necessary calculations and enter results into the system.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments and samples.
- Basic molecular biology technics such as DNA extraction and PCR.
- Prepare samples for biological, chemical, and biochemical analysis.
- Experience with anaerobic strains cultures desired.
- Maintain and verify analysis equipment.
- Assist in developing and writing new protocols.
- Adhere to and work within SOPs and technical documentation applicable in BSL2 labs and in the company.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Demonstrate versatility and adaptability by working on multiple different topics as needed.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new methods and technologies.
- Maintain an electronic laboratory notebook describing experimental protocol and results.
- Organize and centralize requests for the purchase of laboratory materials as well as inventory managing.
- Support project research activities under the direction.

**Your Profile**:

- Technician Diploma or Bachelor’s degree with 1-5 years of R&D experience in microbiology and molecular biology, strain development a plus.

- Additional Skills: Proficiency with computer tools (MS Office, Word, Excel, SAP).
- Other Requirements: Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively, commitment to ethical practices in research and data handling, responsibility, ability to collaborate productively with colleagues, curiosity, and eagerness to learn.
