The research group of Sebastian Hiller is looking to recruit a highly motivated PhD student.
**Your position**
In an interdisciplinary project supported by a Sinergia grant of the Swiss National Science Foundation, we will investigate the molecular underpinnings of gene regulation in muscle plasticity at the atomic level. We will use integrated structural biology methods to resolve the structures and functions of the transcriptional regulators involved, including their formation of liquid-liquid phase separated condensates. The work is a close collaboration with the group of Prof. Christoph Handschin, who will complement our research with comprehensive analysis of RNA-binding, coupled to the genetic elucidation of structure-function aspects using state-of-the-art technologies, spanning from molecular biology to animal (patho)physiology. We are looking for a motivated and well-trained student to join our multidisciplinary team of postdocs and PhD students.
**Your profile**
MSc or equivalent degree with a strong component in biochemistry, biophysics and structural biology. Experience in RNA-binding protein biochemistry, liquid-liquid phase separation, intrinsically disordered proteins, or multiprotein complexes is ideal. Selection will furthermore be based on the educational background, motivation, independence and creativity of the applicant. The position is funded and salary is according to institutional guidelines.
