**(1 year Temporary Position)**

**ROLE OVERVIEW**:
**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintain high quality seed trains, prepare cells for transfection, monitor cell inventory, cell banking.
- Perform transient transfections in mammalian cell lines (CHO, HEK) at small to medium scale, according to the established methods, to support monoclonal and multi-specific antibodies production as well as antigen package production for Discovery.
- Perform plasmid purification and subsequent DNA quality control for transfection-grade DNA; support outsourcing of plasmid preparation and maintain plasmid inventory.
- Maintain detailed, accurate and timely experiment reports (electronic laboratory notebook system).
- Assist in evaluation and implementation of novel transient and/or stable protein expression technologies.
- Perform cell transfections using automated platforms.
- Present and discuss data in English in both informal and formal settings.
- Participate in day-to-day laboratory management.
- Perform other relevant duties as required.
- Comply with HSE guidelines.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- CFC in Biology or BSc in Biotechnology, or related discipline (e.g. cell biology) with demonstrated analytical capabilities.
- Expertise in mammalian cell culture handling and transfection methods (chemical, electroporation).
- Experience in basic molecular biology techniques (PCR, sequencing, restriction digest, agarose gel analysis) and DNA analysis software
- Protein purification and characterization experience, using biochemical and analytical methods (e.g. SDS-PAGE, SEC, IEF) will be considered a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary biologics discovery team as well as relevant industrial experience will be a valuable asset.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Excellent English written and oral communication skills are necessary.
