**ROLE OVERVIEW**
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Clone, express, and purify therapeutic antibodies
- Develop and perform protein-protein interaction assays, including kinetic, epitope binning, blocking assays (SPR, BLI)
- Support implementation of new technologies as required to improve early developability assessment of antibodies and efficiency of the group (e.g. polyreactivity/polyspecificity assay, automation of DNA preps and protein purification using TECAN)
- Present and discuss data in English in both informal and formal settings
- Maintain detailed and organized documentation
- Participate in day-to-day laboratory management
- Perform other relevant duties as required
- Collaborate across the matrix to support portfolio development
- Comply with HSE guidelines
**EDUCATION AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE**:
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in biochemistry or related discipline (e.g. chemistry, biology, biotechnology) with demonstrated analytical capabilities
- Relevant industrial or academic experience is preferred, but training will be provided.
- Proficiency in molecular biology and micro-biological techniques (PCR, cloning, primer design) and DNA sequence analysis software is required
- Experience with protein expression in bacterial or mammalian cells and purification techniques is required
- Experience with protein-protein interaction methods (SPR, BLI or related technologies), hands-on experience with Biacore and/or Octet systems is desirable
- Knowledge of cell culture techniques and reporter cell screening is desirable
- Strong English communication skills, both oral and written is essential
- Rigorous, excellent organization skills, autonomous, hands-on and team minded
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to present to all levels of the organization
- Proven experience in problem analysis/solving
- Proactive, reactive and adaptable
