Position Overview
We are hiring the Head of International Expansion & Strategy, an International leadership position, fundamentally important to the international business growth and for shaping and implementing the new product and portfolio strategy including the successful commercial launch of our new portfolio products into our International region which includes all countries other than the US. The Head of International Expansion will be responsible to define the strategy for future expansion in International over the next 3-5 years and have a shared responsibility with the GM International to implement this strategy, thereby assuming also a shared responsibility for the underlying PnL. This role will be accountable to advance the international organizational structures, capabilities, infrastructure and partnerships which will be required for the successful introduction of future product lines across international markets.
With our development activities in (Pan-)cancer screening, our ‘mínimal residual disease’ platform and our existing and growing suite of products to guide treatment selection the Head of International Expansion will orchestrate in close collaboration with our development organization, the Pipeline Business Unit how Exact Sciences will address patient needs in international markets to contribute to the eradication of cancer with leading product offerings. The Head of International Expansion will directly lead all aspects of launch preparation and country launches through a newly formed Launch Lead function.
This role will also have direct responsibility for the international Market Access organization. The Head of International Expansion will also direct the international Business Development and M&A activities in collaboration with our Corporate Strategy and Business Development team. The position reports into the General Manager International, is a member of the senior leadership team of the International organization and will be located in our newly established international head office in the Kanton of Zug.
Essential Duties
include but are not limited to the following:
- Defining and implementing international expansion strategy.
- Directing development of the intl. organization in concert with other members of the International Leadership team to prepare the international organization for launch excellence.
- Leading development, implementation and execution of international portfolio strategy (what, when, where, how) towards launch execution.
- Engage with corporate Strategy and BD to facilitate execution of global strategy and the Pipeline BU to advocate and ensure truly global development efforts reflective of international needs.
- Accountable for the ‘New Products’ International P&L across all relevant functions (targeting $ 60 M revenue by 2026).
- Establish the International launch engine, designed to deliver break-through products for cancer management across the disease continuum within the next 5 years.
- Direct the Launch Lead and the Market Access organizations and orchestrate other functions (both international and US-based) to steer expedited product development & market preparation in line with international needs for launch success.
- Establish strong collaboration with country organizations for seamless product handover post initial launch.
