PRIMARY ANGLOPHONE TEACHER (50%)

Collège du Léman (CDL) is one of Switzerland’s most prestigious international day and boarding schools, located on the edge of Lake Geneva in view of the Swiss Alps. The school helps students to find their place in the world by inspiring individual growth, academic excellence, and global citizenship. It is a truly international community with more than 150 different nationalities among the 1800-day and 240 boarding students. They come together on a green, village-like campus covering 8 hectares.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Create a stimulating teaching and learning environment in which all students are engaged in their learning and are encouraged to become independent.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of the students
- Deliver differentiated teaching and learning activities adapted to each student’s needs and in line with CDL Primary curriculum
- Create a stimulating and dynamic learning environment
- Foster students’ curiosity and willingness to learn
- Work with a team of professional educators to ensure consistency among the grade level
- Contribute to weekly meetings in grade level and|or section
- Keep a weekly record and diary of the class activities
- Observe, evaluate and keep a record of each student’s progress
- Support students social and emotional development, and identify the strengths and areas of development of students
- Follow CDL restorative approach when managing behavior
- Collaborate with the Learning Support Services when required
- Supervise the students during lunchtime as per the schedule requirements
- Provide regular feedback to parents using a variety of communication methods, including posting on dedicated IT platforms and apps
- Participate in Professional Development days/sessions

Required - not an option
- Languages required: English as mother tongue, master of French is an asset
- Bachelor of Education or teaching degree
- Teaching experience with young children
- To be eligible to work in Switzerland
