About the role

The Technical Pricing Team’s core purpose is to ensure reliable, transparent and accurate technical pricing of our P&C reinsurance treaties. Most treaties are priced directly by our Underwriters, with the Pricing team being responsible for the methodologies, models, parameters, tools being used as well as for the results on a portfolio level. Selected large and complex accounts are directly priced by our team.

We align the pricing view with our Reserving, Capital Modelling, Analytics and Underwriting to ensure a holistic view on MS Reinsurance’s book of business.

**Responsibilities**:
- Price and review individual large and complex treaties, provide underwriters with input for a successful negotiation and contribute to the underwriting decision.- Review and validate our models, leveraging submission as well as our internal datasets.- Contribute to the development and parameterisation of new pricing models within MS Reinsurance’s technical pricing framework, taking the lead in some markets/classes.-
- Collaborate and share knowledge with the wider pricing and actuarial team on pricing approaches and analyses.- Assistance with other pricing team activities as appropriate.- The primary interface of this role is with the wider Pricing actuarial team across our different offices and the Technical Underwriting Department. And includes regular alignment with Underwriting, Reserving, Capital Modelling and Senior Management.

**Profile**:
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience.- Experience with quantifying Engineering, Agriculture or Property risks preferred.- Nearly/Fully qualified actuary.- Experience in pricing reinsurance treaties.- Strong quantitative analytical skills.- MS Excel, VBA and SQL experience needed.- R, python, PowerBI, git, spark experience desirable.- Well organized with the ability to use initiative and self-manage whilst being able to work effectively in a team environment.- Ability to coach and lead junior actuarial staff.- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple departments within the organisation.
