The Director Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), Compliance & Assurance is responsible for these key functions: Developing and leading a global EHS Management System that incorporates the global EHS policy, standards, guidelines and associated training; developing and executing a global assurance strategy that is fit for purpose for NCHC; leading a global compliance strategy that incorporates new and changing regulations, ensures accurate and timely reporting of external facing data, driving accurate tracking and reporting of NCHC EHS regulatory compliance to executive leadership; and serving as global lead of NCHC ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 group certificates.

This senior leader will work closely with the NCHC EHS leadership to shape global strategies to ensure EHS Standards and EHS Program Reviews remain synchronized; define global processes to ensure data quality and integrity for external reporting to regulatory agencies and reports such as the J&J Health for Humanity report. Define governance processes for EHS NCHC data platforms for EHS compliance records, e.g., non-compliance events, audit/assessment findings and related corrective and preventative actions. Define an integrated audit process that algins ISO certification audits with the EHS Assurance Audit process. Define process to ensure that the EHS Standards are incorporated as appropriate into the assessment of site EHS capabilities and needs. This leader will also work with the EHS, E&PS, Quality Leadership Teams, and across all levels of EHS Site Operations in executing the key responsibilities of this role.
- Manages 1 professional responsible to support the EHS Management Systems, assurance and ISO audit scheduling, training and competency of EHS professionals. Dotted line reporting/collaboration with learning management system and document management system owners anticipated.
- EHS policy, standards & training - Establish global strategy and governance of the EHS Policy, Standards, Technical Standards, Guidelines and Training. Define consistency in scope, format, content level, review cycle, alignment to assurance Program Review process. Establish governance and change management process to solicit, reconcile, incorporate and rollout changes to said documents and training. Lead global effort to standardize regulatory required training, incorporating adult learning techniques and innovations in training delivery to ensure effective and compliant training across NCHC.
- NCHS Assurance - Lead efforts to design, fit for purpose to NCHC, assurance process to include data assurance, data use, training/capability, audits, program reviews, program requirements: understanding, and ISO group certification.
- Regulatory Compliance - Define a robust compliance management system across NCHC including regulatory trends/tracking, proven practices in maintaining compliance, and how our standards compliment and reinforce a strong compliance culture. Provide timely and accurate summaries of compliance records and statistics as needed for routine updates to EHS Leadership Team, senior management, e.g., Board of Directors Regulatory Compliance Committee, and for external reporting, e.g., Health for Humanity Report. Analyze and interpret compliance data, challenge documented results as appropriate.
