- TotalEnergies Gas and Power (TGP) is the trading arm of TotalEnergies in the field of low carbon energies. As such, it operates in fast-evolving market dynamics influenced by external factors that require constant adaptation and evolution.
- Uncertainties specific to the trading environment (volatility of prices, supply & demand mismatches) are coupled with those coming from the broader energy transition and constantly evolving regulatory framework. In such context, TGP is to ensure growth and profitability to a key segment of the business in order to reach the objective of Carbon Neutrality by 2050.
- Trading Energy Management (TEM) is a Front Office division within TGP in charge of managing energy flows and power activities as well as developing businesses in line with TotalEnergies renewable energies ambition. It covers among others Long Term Structured Portfolio, Short Term Power Trading, Origination, New Ventures & Integration Projects (NVIP), Sales Supply and Power Trading IT Transformation.

Joining GEM NVIP team for TotalEnergies, you will participate in designing the portfolio strategy and act as the main interface between TGP and the gas and power production and marketing of the Company. You will be working on numerous business opportunities and risk management challenges, in close collaboration with traders, originators analysts, legal and other experts.
- Your main responsibilities will be:
- You will scan the political, legislative, and regulatory landscape for trends and issues that can give rise to substantive value creation or destruction. Working closely with fellow commercial colleagues within the team to build a case to either pursue the opportunities and/or mitigate the threats.
- Your role will also focus on the market for voluntary and regulated certificates for clean energy sources in Europe with emphasis on opportunities from gas and power certificates and renewable and decarbonised gas trading in North European markets.
- You will coordinate actions across departments to establish efficient and effective processes to ensure that business is conducted with compliance with relevant regulations. This includes animating and developing an internal network of regulatory experts/sentinels located in branch offices and in our Head Office in Paris as well as within the trading organisation.
- You will be accountable for the researching and synthesising regulations to draw out key learnings to support country specific business strategies and commercial opportunities by advising originators and traders on commercial opportunities for existing and new regulations. You will be responsible for influencing the further development of the policy and regulatory framework of these activities, through active participation into EU and national regulatory proceedings to protect/advance GRP Trading’s interests.
- The role will require you to have a multiple set of skills to advise on commercial opportunities or draw compliance requirements from formal regulatory documents, with a large amount of complex material. Additionally, you will be in charge of distilling information, grasping the commercial concept, building a compelling argument, and performing effective advocacy and lobbying. This will entail communicating messages with confidence and credibility to a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate traders and originators with legal and compliance teams.
- Establish & maintaining relationships with key internal stakeholders, including Compliance, Government Relations and Legal.
- Establishing strong working relationship with national authorities, Transmission System Operators, lobbying groups, relevant associations and agencies responsible for the policy and regulatory framework of gas and power and renewables European markets.
