Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) is a leading product development partnership (PDP) in the field of antimalarial drug research and development. Its mission is to reduce the burden of malaria in disease-endemic countries by discovering, developing and delivering new, effective and affordable antimalarial drugs.

Over the past two decades, MMV has worked with an extensive network of donors, private and public sector partners, experts and clinical centers in endemic countries to develop an outstanding portfolio of antimalarial projects.

Our portfolio is financed through funding support coming from government agencies, private and corporate foundations, international organizations, corporations and private individuals.

We are looking for a talented graduate to join the External Relations (ER) team for a full-time, paid, one year internship which offers the opportunity to learn a variety of advocacy, donor and grant-related activities in an exciting business environment.

**The Intern will**:
Provide support to the External Relations and Advocacy departments, and gain a global overview of external relations and advocacy processes unique to a PDP and have the opportunity to gain experience in fundraising and advocacy activities.

Specifically:
Contribute to production of annual and progress reports by compiling information gathered from various MMV departments.
- Assist with research for new funding opportunities.
- Support archiving and restructuring of departmental electronic record keeping system.
- Research background data and information to support drafting of documents and correspondence for current and prospective donors.
- Support various research and support activities in the Advocacy Department (about 20%)
- Assist with other duties in ER and ADV as requested.

**Education and Experience**:

- Recently graduated with a university degree in International Relations (preferably) or related field.
- Experience in global health/ development issues

**Technical skills required**:

- Fluency in English (oral and written); working ability in French would be an asset
- Good proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written

**Behavioural skills required**:

- Cultural awareness and sensitivity in working with diverse and international teams.
- Well organized, detail-oriented approach to work
- Flexible and able to handle frequent changes

**Starting date**: 01 July 2023
