**The opportunity**:

Your role will include the substantiation of the financial statements of Swiss Re's EMEA Life & Health portfolio through in-depth analysis of technical results and reserves. You will provide assurance to the Regional CFO and the wider Finance community by bringing transparency on assumption changes and quality of reserves. You will closely collaborate with our Actuarial Valuation Management colleagues to provide high quality analysis and management reporting commentary. In this role, you will be the critical link between our regional FP&A, Accounting & Reporting and Legal Entity teams, providing expertise, business insights, co-ordination, and support.

**Your main tasks**:
- Maintain a strong relationship between Finance and L&H Business Management to facilitate collaboration and timely and accurate exchange of information.- Provide a link between our Financial Planning & Analysis, Carrier, and L&H Business Management teams.- Review assumption changes recommended to the Regional Reserving Committee and provide views to the EMEA CFO and Finance community.- Identify areas of risk and weakness in technical reserves and help to develop resolution plans.- Provide reviews of topics highlighted in the Issue Log, form an independent opinion and challenge where appropriate.- Prepare financial forecast information for submission to Business Unit Reinsurance Finance.- Assist in the closing process and co-ordination across our EMEA Finance teams.- Consolidate US GAAP and economic results for the region, provide financial analysis and prepare results presentations for senior management.- Engage in IFRS-17 transition activities and help to ensure the team is ready for implementation.- Share knowledge with the wider L&H community; actively search for opportunities to continually improve.- As a member of our team, you will undertake specific financial projects and ad hoc activities.

**About the team**

The Controlling & Reporting L&H EMEA team is the to-go function for the region for all questions regarding the substantiation of the financial statements, review and challenge of actuarial assumptions, financial forecasting and results reporting to key clients. The team also supports the Carrier, FP&A and other teams in delivering meaningful business insight into their respective analysis and reporting processes. We are part of the Finance Reinsurance EMEA department and work closely with Business Management, other teams in Finance and the wider Swiss Re organisation. Our diverse team of 13 members is spread across London and Bratislava.

**About You**

We would be happy to meet you if you:
- Are a part/qualified actuary- Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in Accounting & Reserving for Life & Health Re/Insurance- Consider yourself to be strong analytically and enjoy problem solving- Have excellent communication skills and like presenting sophisticated content in an easy-to-understand way- Have strong Excel and Power Point skills- Are agile and open to deal with change- Can work under tight deadlines and use your own initiative- Have a good command of the English language - other European languages are welcome
