Head of Commercial Oncology

The Head of Commercial OBD is responsible for the development of commercial pre/post-launch strategy of the Daiichi Sankyo Oncology assets in Switzerland. The role oversees the marketing operations execution and effective infield implementation in order to achieve annual and long term business objectives. Responsibilities include direct line management of the oncology sales and marketing functions. The position reports to the Daiichi Sankyo Switzerland Country Manager and is part of the local leadership team.
**Roles & Responsibilities**:
- Ensures short/long term business objectives are reached
- Oversees the annual development of strategic plans and the compilation of the annual budget
- Ensures commercial expenses are within the approved budgets
- Oversees that all agreed marketing activities are undertaken as described in the annual marketing plan
- Liaises with our alliance partner(s), aligning on key objectives, deliverables, timelines and accountabilities; maintains a fruitful and long-term oriented business relationship
- Maintains the adequate level of product, therapy and disease knowledge in the commercial team
- Assists in the evaluation of new business opportunities from a marketing and sales perspective
- Is accountable for team coaching and professional development
- Is an ambassador and leads by example following the Daiichi Sankyo core behaviors: Develop and Grow, Collaborate and Trust, Be inclusive and embrace diversity
- As member of the local LT, sponsors, drives or contributes to key corporate projects around governance, way of working, company culture and Daiichi Sankyo Switzerland future development
**Education & Professional Experience**:
- Scientific or Business Administration Degree Commercial
- At least 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry with significant exposure in commercial roles
- Previous experience in oncology is required, experience in the breast and/or NSCLC area is a strong plus
- Experience in leading high performance teams of sales professionals within a field-based pharmaceutical organization is required
- Distinct knowledge of local network, their decision processes/ structure
- Experience in using data to drive and make business decisions
- Strong understanding of sales, marketing and commercial best practice within the pharmaceutical industry
- Strong strategic thinking skills
- Highly effective communication, networking and influencing skills
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills

- Fluency in German and English is mandatory
