Why we are recruiting
We are looking for a Strategy & Transformation Lead to work across two large units of the organization. The Centre for the New Economy and Society (CNES), the Forum’s global platform for shaping prosperous, inclusive and equitable economies and societies that create opportunity for all. The Global Communications Group (GCG), the central Forum team dedicated to communications with the public, media, stakeholders and staff in relation to the Forum’s mission. Both areas are adapting their respective strategies and teams, and this role will support building and implementing new strategies and supporting teams to deliver on the next phase of these units’ impact and growth.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
The role will report to the senior Lead responsible for Strategy and Transformation for these two units. Internally, the role will liaise and work with colleagues in the units’ leadership and broader teams, and with colleagues across the Forum’s relevant institutional functions. Externally, it might liaise on an ad-hoc basis with external contractors and other relevant parties.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to strategic transformation activities as part of the units’ trajectory of growth and impact, developing transformation plans, tracking progress against milestones and providing consistent updates to leadership.
- Contribute to the documents, tools and data that will support the units’ strategy and activities, including an overview of internal timelines, external calendars, file sharing repositories and best practices, communication material, impact dashboards and engagement data.
- Champion narrative alignment, consistent approaches and collaboration across the multiple teams within the two units and other Forum units.
- Support recruitment, onboarding and team building across the units, strengthening a culture of excellence, impact and collaboration.
- Codify lessons and learnings from strategic transformation activities to strengthen the units’ value proposition.
- Work closely with the units’ leadership teams to identify areas for future focus in strengthening their impact.
- Collaborate internally across similar functions and promote coherent and consistent institutional development.
- Success in formulating work plans for strategy and transformation initiatives, integrating multiple views and institution-first approaches; evolving as required in a shifting context.
- Success of change management initiatives to implement strategic objectives or processes.
- Successful recruitment, onboarding and team building with a view to skills and behaviours aligned with the units’ and Forum’s development.
- Analysing and synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data in support of strategy development. Ability to develop documents for internal and external audiences.
- Effective setup, management and update of units-wide file sharing repositories.
- Fluency in the use of internal and external digital platforms and tools for activity design, project management and constituent engagement.
- Ensuring that results and milestones are documented consistently and regularly shared with key stakeholders.
- Keeping abreast of relevant issues, developments, initiatives, and stakeholders pertinent to the Forum’s impact-related work, particularly relating to the socio-economic agenda and to communications.
- Strong understanding of the Forum’s mission and impact and of the two units’ roles, within the broader Forum context.
- Ability to collaborate efficiently and transparently within the team and across the organization as a strong team player.
- Ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
- Effectively represent the Forum internally and externally where applicable, including at institutional events.
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years of professional experience in consulting, strategy development or change management in business, government, non-profit, international organization and/or think tanks.
- and short-term objectives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Preferred knowledge of the Forum context, culture, business model, and operating environment.
- Fluency in English and high degree of comfort with data, with excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills; knowledge of other languages would be an asset.
