The Legal & Regulatory team is responsible for all legal and regulatory matters related to the operations, services and business of SIX. We closely collaborate with business on day-to-day related matters, create and update contractual templates, negotiate with clients and partners, contribute legal advice in respect of M&A and other transactions, deal with HR and Intellectual Property related topics, manage litigations of the group and act as point of contact for supervisory authorities - all in Switzerland and abroad. This wide range of legal topics requires members that are open minded, interested to understand the several business areas of the group, and willing to accept the challenge of regularly leaving one’s own comfort zone. Co-operation with other team members in Zurich, Spain, France and the UK is key for us.
We are excited to offer you the opportunity to join this team as Legal Counsel, reporting to the Head Group Legal, with a main focus on advising the business and corporate functions on legal matters of group-wide significance, including legal & regulatory watch, competition law and legal risk management & reporting. In this role, you will work closely with internal stakeholders in Switzerland and abroad and hence get an in-depth understanding of the strategy of the group, the individual business units and projects envisaged to further develop services of SIX.
**What You Will Do**:
- keep track of and analyze legal and regulatory developments (new laws and regulations, court rulings, market standards) in Switzerland and the EU, determine relevancy for SIX and initiate timely implementation, provide input and legal expertise in consultations on new acts or other legislation, provide updates and education to other legal teams
- act as centre of excellence for competition law and provide advice and expertise to business and other legal teams
- take ownership for legal risk management and reporting to the Executive Board and the Corporate Function Risk, Security & Compliance
- advise the business and corporate functions on a variety of other group-wide topics such as litigation and investigations, M&A, IT, procurement, real estate management and corporate communications in Switzerland and the EU
- engage, manage and supervise external lawyers
**What You Bring**:
- mLaw (Swiss), bar exam or LL.M. a plus
- generalist with in-depth knowledge of competition law and/or willingness to become an expert in that area of law
- approximately 2 years of working experience as an inhouse counsel or in a law firm
- solution oriented approach with strong negotiation skills
- professional German and English skills, Spanish and French a plus
