To safeguard the company’s business objectives, ensure its delivery against strategic opportunities, and protect the company against emerging uncertainties, a highly professional and industry-leading risk management and internal controls practice is required. The Risk & Controls (R&C) function within PMI defines, leads, monitors the risk management and internal controls practices and drives the various activities surrounding it.
The Manager Risk & Controls (R&C) Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) (or “Manager R&C ERM” in short) is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager Risk & Controls ERM and Director Risk & Controls in:
1. Contributing to the definition, maintenance and optimization of the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework including governance, policies and standards aligned with regulations and best practices; threat and risk libraries; risk scenarios; risk assessment methodology; tools; and risk reporting and KRIs - by means of integrating ERM within the overarching GRC environment of the company;
3. Analyzing risk data across the enterprise (globally) to identify and drive (facilitate and oversee) the mitigation of risks, which is owned by the “First Line” business functions, and suggesting conclusions on the sufficient / adequacy of the enterprise response to risk;
4. Drafting communication of results / proposed conclusions of such risk analysis for a complex group of stakeholders across ‘First Line’, ‘Second Line’ and ‘Third Line’ stakeholders with various level of seniority (including up to (S)VP level); and
5. Seeking and supporting the implementation of opportunities to increase the added business value perceived by senior stakeholders (both within, but moreover, outside of R&C) from the overall R&C activities deployed through implementing and refining the company’s (enterprise) risk management practices.
Principal Accountabilities
The Manager R&C ERM has the primary objective to support the implementation and operation of the company’s GRC strategy and vision in relation to enterprise risk management as required by the Senior Manager Risk & Controls ERM and Director Risk & Controls. This includes the following key accountability:
Accountability - Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
- Contributes to a robust ERM environment exists by supporting the definition, implementation, enhancement and maintenance of:
- PMI’s ERM framework, governance and reporting;
- Risk appetite framework, including risk limits, targets and mapping of appetite to risks;
- A risk register with documented owners, ratings and actions;
- Risk assessment criteria, tools, and methodologies;
- Key risk indicators (KRIs), including owners, data sources, and tolerance thresholds;
- Risk culture assessment tools and metrics.
- Where appropriate, contributes to the communication of enterprise-wide understanding of roles and responsibilities across the “Three Lines” as they pertain to ERM, including framework, governance, methods, process, tools and reporting.
- Supports “First Line”, “Second Line” and “Third Line” stakeholders with comprehensive identification and evaluation of existing, new and emerging risks along strategic, deployment, inherent and external risk categories as relates to strategies, processes, projects, third parties, regulations and markets.
- Assists stakeholders in definition of risk mitigation actions to effectively address risks associated with the business and documents risk response actions.
