General Description:
The Associate Director/Director Advanced Analytics will build and lead the business analytics function responsible for developing and implementing market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence, and advanced analytics projects that support the launch of hematology products within the EU markets. In addition, this role will drive the CRM rollout across EU countries in close collaboration with International Commercial Operations. The role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams both on a regional and country level, including Marketing, Commercial Operations, Medical Affairs, Market Access, Training and Business Analytics.
Essential Functions of the job:
- Synthesize market research and competitive intelligence into actionable strategic insights and recommendations that support decision making, forecasting and launch tracking
- Translate key business issues into market research proposals questions and develop and implement market research plans in collaboration with the brand teams, including selection and management of agencies.
- Market (Customers & Disease) Understanding: Responsible for the set-up of market research and systematically gather and consolidate primary and secondary data and competitive intelligence activities on an EU level in accordance with legal and drug safety requirements.
- Create and manage accurate short and long-term forecasts including assessments of new (business development) opportunities.
- Work closely with the affiliates to align forecast assumptions, coordinate market assessments, and business assumptions, and lead the development of forecast models.
- CRM set up, roll-out and continuous support: identify requirements and support roll-out of a best-in class CRM system for the International Markets, be the interface to the IT department for technical aspects and develop strategic insights on promotional effectiveness.
- Planning and oversight of EU business analytics budget.
- Forge strong team-oriented working relationship with key constituencies of the International Team: with the Commercial Operations International, Country Managers and their Commercial Directors.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 6 years of pharmaceutical industry marketing or related experience (including market research, forecasting, competitive intelligence, business analytics and marketing/sales).
- Biotech or pharmaceutical marketplace launch experience required, ideally in hematology/oncology
- Global and/or international experience is a plus
- EU marketplaces launch experience of orphan drugs advantageous.
- Quantitative and analytical skills in supporting in-country field force initiatives, as well as International (European) forecasting, KPI development and strategic marketing research initiatives.
- Experience with CRM rollouts is desired
- Demonstrated ability in establishing and cultivating effective internal working relationship with multi-layer, cross-functional counterparts across geographies (from HQ in USA to countries throughout International).
- Proven ability to successfully engage with internal/external key stakeholders, creating alignment horizontally and vertically and able to influence people both in-line management as well as in a matrix management environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including strong formal presentation skills.
- Good understanding of different cultures (both business as well as country) and demonstrates an appreciation of cultural diversity, with sensitivity to differences in attitudes and norms.

- Fluent in English; other languages advantageous.
Education Required: Undergraduate degree in business, informatics, economics, biological or medical sciences required. MBA and/or post graduate preferred. At least 6 years of industry experience
