**Head of Global I&D Integration and Strategic Excellence****:
To be based in our Divisional Headquarter in Basel-Allschwil, Switzerland

**Primary Job Function**:
I&D has been tasked with identifying and delivering the innovation and development of products and services for EPD to improve the medicine & services for the people we serve in our key markets.
- The Head of Global I&D Integration and Strategic Excellence role is key member of the I&D Leadership Team and partner of the DVP I&D. The role is accountable for ensuring end to end I&D, Commercial and Operations governance, decision making and processes globally and across regions for the I&D.
- Oversees and directs the development, implementation and review of I&D strategy and best practices; tangibly demonstrates how product and services help customer; enable the I&D functions strategy and execution to drive NPI growth in line with EPD’s objectives.
- The role will lead, in partnership with I&D leaders, key transformational initiatives to establish and maintain robust Governance and drive streamlined end to end processes and systems across all I&D functions to support the success of I&D to drive and enable the growth and development of EPD.
- Responsibility for project management of critical and strategic initiatives, from establishment through to execution, ensuring agility and efficiency enabler programmes.

- Medical/ Clinical OpEx
- PV OpEx
- PPM OpEx
- Other various OpEx resources across the different I&D functions
- Lead internal and external cross-functional teams to assess optimal process and organizational design and make recommendations around structure, operating set-up and ultimate end state.
- Leverage best practices across the Global I&D Organization and work in a matrix across I&D and support functions to enable a consistent and structured approach and buy in from other EPD Stakeholders.
- Represent I&D’s interest with other functions such as: Operations, Commercial, Procurement, AQR, IT and other cross and above Division Abbott Stakeholders.
- Influences and contributes to I&D and to the EPD strategies; ensures that scientific and technical stipulations are implemented and followed.

**Core Job Responsibilities**:

- Continually refine the future vision of the I&D organization. Develop structured processes to ensure sustainability of the organization
- Identify and conduct detailed design of strategic / transformational initiatives and projects, bringing in best practices and insights from internal and external sources (market, competition and other industries) into the specific project design.
- Influence I&D leadership team members on changes arising out of key project recommendations, with sound logic and supporting insights.
- Assess and challenge all I&D functional processes to drive innovation, end to end process and systems that deliver operational excellence.
- Implement agile, streamlined, end to end and high quality I&D governance, process and systems, ensuring compliance with respective regulatory and quality requirements.
- Together with functions and geographies, own the execution and delivery of chosen transformation projects and ensure regular problem solving, tracking and de-bottlenecking.
- Represents the Global I&D Integration and Strategic Excellence function and informs senior management of strategies, plans, risks and progress.
- Manages and guides a discipline with all assigned areas of responsibility; establishes and maintains an environment that assures the retention and recruitment of outstanding talent, developing strong succession bench strength, responsible for assigned function.
- Regularly evaluates self and team on goal attainment; identifies customers and pursues relationships with customers and is actively pursuing services with external service providers; strives for win-wins and reflects all aspects in negotiations with partners and customers.
- Analyses current business conditions and developmental practices to continuously improve quality and productivity.
- Responsible for planning and controlling assigned budgets in function
- Establishes clear communication channels within the discipline and cross-functional teams for both internal and external clients.
