The Neuro Research Center Bern is an interdisciplinary effort of the departments of Diagnostic and Interventional Neuro-radiology, Neurology, and Neurosurgery. Its goal is to provide a high-level environment to catalyze research and support young researchers.
Our Stroke Research Center is a world-renowned nucleus of excellence for high-quality patient-oriented clinical research spearheading major breakthroughs in stroke care (e.g. mechanical thrombectomy). The high international visibility is based on translational research over the last three decades, including international randomized controlled trials.
Among other topics, the Neurovascular Research group at Inselspital has contributed in the field of Spontaneous Intra-cranial hypotension (SIH) which is reflected by multiple publications; on diagnostic work-up, and surgical treatment of SIH patients.
We have access to modern technologies including, new generation angiography system, neurovascular robotics and ultra-high field 7T-MRI, which enable us to further drive the innovative research in this fast-developing field.
We are a dynamic team of clinicians, clinical scientists, psychologists, trial managers, medical students, and biomedical engineers who work collaboratively to ensure that the various knowledge and talents in the team are combined to the best effect.
The challenge
Screening, enrolment and follow-up of patients in clinical research projects and assist in building up scientific databases
Responsible work in a multi-disciplinary team (research nurses, clinical trial coordinators, clinical and research staff from Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, emergency and intensive care medicine)
Possibility to conduct own research projects within the framework of the research center
Design and analysis of post-hoc studies of randomized-controlled trials and individual patient meta-analyses
Networking with established international research groups and collaborations
Contribute building a database of neurovascular cases (teaching aspect, video editing)
**Profile**:
Fluency in English
Medical doctor (work experience in interventional Neuroradiology or endovascular Neurosurgery is recommended)
Strong interest in cerebrovascular disease (prior research experience and publications is recommended)
Basic knowledge in medical statistics
Highly motivated and strongly team oriented
Reliable and transparent working style
