350+ TRD projects, 200+ compounds and 100+ life cycle projects.
- The purpose of this role is to help ARD Specialty OPS Basel to maintain in-house capabilities to support the current (ParTop, Inhalation) and the future project portfolio (e.g. new modalities, oligonucleotides), in collaboration with the project team.
- Major Accountabilities:
- Plan and perform scientific experiments or GMP testing for the preparation and timely delivery of drug substances (DS), drug products (DP), processes or procedures. Maintain equipment/infrastructure and lead operational aspects in the lab as assigned.
- Understand applied practices, concepts and processes in a defined area or scientific/ technical field. Provide advice in own area and recommend improvements to well established and clearly defined processes.
- Provide documentation of raw data, evaluate and interpret own results. Propose and provide input for the design of next experiments.
- Contribute to maintenance of infrastructure / equipment; evaluate new equipment.
- Work according to appropriate standards defined for quality, ethics, health, safety, environment, and information security.
- Optimize existing methods and develop more efficient ones, generate lab procedures, reports and / or instructions and / or SOPs.
- Communicate and address problems (e.g. deviations and unexpected results from experiments). Contribute to problems solving.
- Actively participate in project teams / meetings / networks. Actively contribute to team goals. Actively contribute and propose lab improvements.
- Ensure compliance to cGMP.

**Minimum requirements**
- Educational Background:
- Minimum: Technician with continuing education (EU) or equivalent
- Desirable: Advanced degree in a scientific or relevant field
- Apprenticeship in related discipline 6-10 years’ experience in related field
- BS + 2-5 yrs. Industry experience
- MS + 0-2 yrs. Industry experience

Ideal Experience:
- Successfully proven several years (minimum of 5 years) of directly related experience as analytical scientist or equivalent.
- Adequate understanding of development processes in own function.
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory and/or technical tools.
- Proficient in English
- Awareness/proven experience for safe handling of chemicals, potentially dangerous materials and equipment.
- Broad scientific or technical knowledge in analytical area
- Extensive knowledge in HPLC/UHPLC including troubleshooting
- Good knowledge in UV-spectrometry and general titration techniques. Advantageous: knowledge in MS
