**Ridgeline Discovery is looking for an (Associate) Director, Computer Aided Drug Design**.

**Ridgeline Discovery** is a Versant Ventures Discovery Engine located in Basel, Switzerland. Founded in 2017 to create and operate Versant-financed innovative biotech companies it has an international team of more than 30 highly experienced drug discovery professionals. Since its inception, Ridgeline Discovery has built several companies from idea to IPO or advanced financing, including Black Diamond Tx (NASDAQ: BDTX), Bright Peak Tx, Monte Rosa Tx (NASDAQ: GLUE), Matterhorn Biosciences and Cimeio Tx. This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in a highly dynamic environment which integrates computer-aided drug design, computational chemistry, machine learning and artificial intelligence to move our companies forward and shape Ridgeline’s overarching scientific strategy.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Leading and contributing to design and execution of the computational strategy, activities, and infrastructure for Ridgeline Discovery Engine-supported biotech companies
- Contribute to the data science strategy of establishing pipelines, exploring new artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, and developing new computational approaches making use of machine learning, or cloud-based solutions
- Research into new computational R&D tools and methods relevant to the drug discovery and development process
- Engage with global research, industry, and standards development communities to identify and implement new technologies and best practices

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Ph.D. in computational chemistry, chemistry, molecular modeling, structural biology, or related field with a computational emphasis and at least 5-10 years of experience directly applied to projects in the Biotech/Pharmaceutical sector
- Demonstrated track record of leveraging digital techniques to drive drug discovery projects or impacting hit finding activities in a drug discovery environment
- A comprehensive understanding of data mining and visualization, ligand, and structure-based design, physics-based and machine learning-based methods, conformational analysis, and pharmacophore development
- Solid background in protein structure and experience in tools for protein analysis/design
- Expert knowledge of modern computational drug design packages and tools, with an emphasis on molecular dynamics, structure prediction and analysis, virtual screening/docking, and free energy determination
- Understanding of the antibody discovery and optimization process is a plus
- Programming experience is a plus
- Highly self-motivated, intellectually curious individual
- Eager to work in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary start-up environment
