**Job description** Category Ocean & Air is one of the five Categories belonging to Supply Chain Operations and is part of Category Area Transport.**
Our role is to** secure Ocean and Air transport capacities by developing partnership with global carriers and service providers, and delivery in excellent way IKEA products** with precision and accuracy, within modern supply chain that safely reaches the many people. Always with the lowest cost, highest quality, and a positive impact on people and planet.
Our set up is unique, as we take the lead with partnership with global players in logistics and transport executing operations of the goods flow from the suppliers to the stores. This requires us to stay close to our retail markets and have a deep expertise in operations as well.
As a Category Manager for Ocean and Air, you will be the globally overall responsible to lead and develop the category and ensure the alignment with our vision, business idea and culture & values. You are responsible to strengthen our competitive position to secure short-, medium
- and long-term growth, and the overall profitability of the IKEA business. As a Category Manager you act in the following dimensions:
- Responsible for the development and implementation of the Category Business Plan, ensure the Action Plans are created, implemented & followed up to meet the customer needs.
- You take responsibility for securing business demands, secure excellence in both operations as well as in the sourcing processes.
- Responsible for the development of wished position for the future Service Provider landscape and portfolio.
- Lead and develop a global category team of 30 managers and specialists in Business Development, Operations and Project management.
- Be part of the Category Area Transport management team and contribute to identify and act upon cross-category synergies & opportunities.
- Contribute and lead to the Supply Strategy with innovative and sustainable solutions.
**Qualification**
To be successful in this role you have experience from different leading positions within IKEA Supply Chain or IKEA Retail. You enjoy leading business through people You have been creating and implementing long-term strategic plans, action plans, setting goals, providing clear direction and following up goals. You have a proven record of consistently meeting agreed goals as well as working on plans over several years. You are capable to develop and to lead an organization in a fast-changing environment and you know how to enable change. You are result oriented, have a lot of energy and desire to constantly find new ways to develop yourself, your co-workers and the business. You can interact and align with other Supply Chain functions within Inter-IKEA as well as represent the category in cross functional forums & with service providers. You are excellent at building trustful relationships, both internally and externally. You are a global citizen, able to work and lead across cultures. You are inspired & driven by the IKEA culture and values.
