**Your mission**:
The CyberPeace Institute is an independent and neutral non-governmental organization who works to enhance the stability of cyberspace by decreasing the frequency, impact, and scale of destructive cyberattacks. The Institute works in close collaboration with relevant partners to reduce the harms from cyberattacks on people’s lives worldwide and provide them assistance. By analyzing cyberattacks, the Institute exposes their societal impact, how international laws and norms are being violated, and advances responsible behavior to enforce cyberpeace.

Our mission includes supporting cybersecurity volunteers and NGOs through an open-source web platform called Mattermost, facilitating their cooperation and maximizing their impact.

**Your Mission**
We are looking for a highly motivated Full-Stack Development Intern to join the CyberPeace Institute. As an intern, you will be an integral part of the IT team, focusing on the CyberPeace Builders program. Your primary responsibility will be to work on the CyberPeace Builders platform, creating a custom back-end infrastructure, including a new database and integrating it with third-party tools such as Mattermost (cooperation platform and matchmaking tool, open source and written in Go) HubSpot (Customer Relationship Management), LookerStudio (Dashboards), and WordPress. In addition, you will collaborate on front-end development, enhancing the user interface for both volunteers and NGOs, and helping implement the first modules of a gamification strategy.

**Your Responsibilities**
Under the leadership of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and with the guidance of two senior full-stack software engineers/developers, you will be responsible for the following:
**_Back-end Development_***:
Based on business specifications that will be given to you, develop a custom infrastructure for the CyberPeace Builders platform, including a new database.
- Integrate with third-party tools such as Mattermost, Hubspot, LookerStudio, and WordPress, to streamline workflows and enhance functionality.

**_ Front-end Development:_**
- Improve the user interface of the CyberPeace Builders platform for volunteers and NGOs
- Implement various modules of a gamification strategy.

**_ Team Collaboration:_**
- Work closely with the IT team, including other interns, to ensure seamless integration of the developed features.
- Collaborate daily with the dedicated CyberPeace Builders team, which includes a product manager, community manager, program manager, NGO specialists, growth specialist, and the COO of the Institute.

**Additional Information**
- **Mandatory: tripartite internship agreement between the student, the University/school and our Institute**:

- Duration: 6-12 months
- Working rate: 80%
- Starting date: July onwards
- Location: Geneva, Switzerland (local immigration and internship regulations will apply)

**Your Experience, Skills and Attributes**

**_Education_**
- Studying Computer Science or equivalent

**_ Key Qualifications_**
- Full-stack development experience, including both back-end and front-end: experience with different programming languages including JavaScript, React, HTML, CSS, Go
- Knowledge of SQL
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical colleagues
- Good command of the English language

**_Additional Skills (optional, but desirable):_**
- Experience with Mattermost, Hubspot, LookerStudio
- Familiarity with GitLab pipelines and other relevant development tools
- Knowledge of Secure SDLC
- Knowledge of gamification principles and strategies
- Knowledge in authentication including Single Sign-On
- Knowledge in agile software development
- Experience in cyber security
