The Bank for International Settlements, BIS has an opportunity for an Enterprise Architect to join our ITS team in Basel, Switzerland.

***Purpose of the role**:

As the person responsible for Software Asset Management (SAM) and Application Portfolio Management (APM) you will look after all aspects of SAM and APM for ITS, working with Line of Business (LOB) technology teams, Corporate Security, IT Services, Procurement and the Legal Service to build a Bank-wide practice. You will utilize the latest toolsets to optimize the software ecosystem and support enterprise architecture.

**Principal accountabilities**:

- Understand complex software licensing models, including As a Service, to comprehend, interpret, and operationalize the implications of agreements
- Calculate and explain license compliance and risk, and offer reporting and solutions to all levels of the organization
- Develop and drive efficient licensing solutions and savings strategies
- Monitor software for proper use, maintenance, and disposal
- Collect information for budgeting, inventory, contract summaries and cost comparisons

**Qualifications, skills, and experience**:

- Experience in software asset management, IT product management, and/or enterprise architecture with knowledge of standard methodologies
- Understanding of IT lifecycles, procurement and supply chain methods and processes from purchase through disposal
- Experience using Excel to analyse data sets; including experience with pivot tables and formulas, and the ability to compare different data sets
- Interest in and experience with Enterprise Architecture standards and methodologies
- Analytical and thorough; able to research and problem-solve effectively
