Based in the new state-of-the-art Solothurn biologics drug substance manufacturing facility, the Process Sciences Laboratory group within the Manufacturing Sciences (MS) department provides key technical expertise to manufacturing processes at the site. **What You’ll Do**
You will be responsible of performing lab-based activities to support improvement projects of downstream manufacturing processes for biologics. You will utilize a combination of downstream scale-down models for chromatography and filtration steps, process analytical technology (PAT) and multivariate data analysis. You will work under the supervision of a Process Scientist and in compliance with laboratory and EHS directives.

1. Prepare and execute laboratory experiments utilizing downstream scale-down models for chromatography and filtration steps and PAT.

2. Ensure timely and clear communication of experimental results and potential issues to supervising scientists

3. Document experimental data in accordance with laboratory procedures and guidelines

4. Analyze experimental data with multivariate techniques

5. Communicate findings to other process scientists and other functions within the company.

**Who You Are**

Qualifications

**Required Skills**:

- Enrolled in or completed a BSc or MSc degree in Natural Sciences such as Chemistry, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology or closely related field.
- Basic knowledge of and experience with purification of biologics such as chromatography
- First lab experience in academic courses or industry environment (1-2 years).

**Preferred Skills**
- Appropriate theoretical knowledge of the biotechnological principles behind biologics manufacturing
- Familiarity and experience in programming, data bases and/or data visualization systems.
- Experience in spectroscopy (Raman, IR, UV) for PAT is of advantage.
