**Manager Finance R&D and RMSC**

**PURPOSE**

The Finance Manager R&D and RMSC provides leadership, support and counsel on all financial topics to the global R&D and RMSC organization, as well as being the principle finance business partner

for the CH R&D and RMSC functions located in Basel and global Medical Affairs. The incumbent is responsible for the consolidation, reporting and planning for CH R&D and RMSC organization.

Position ensures the local and global execution of all finance matters related to R&D and RMSC functions, as well as supporting the maximization of the pipeline value for new product innovations. This

requires strong leadership and relationship building with R&D and RMSC leadership teams and other finance functions to ensure strong financial budget management and effective resource deployment.

**Your tasks and Responsibilities**:

- Partner & provide leadership to the Basel R&D and RMSC team and their GCBU counterparts to maximize portfolio valuation & realization.
- Provide an accurate, high quality analytical and controlling service to Global R&D and RMSC Functions by leading, coordinating and supporting the budget, forecast and reporting process.
- Organize and run process of consolidated reporting of the Global R&D and RMSC Budget in all Controlling processes (Actual Reporting, Forecasts, Budget etc.)
- Lead the digitalization of reporting requirements across R&D and RMSC organization.
- Lead and evaluate project financials in cooperation with Global R&D Pipeline directors and Project Managers to ensure timely and comprehensive reporting (including reaching financial milestones in a

given timeline). Align with other functions on innovation spend (e.g. GCBU Controlling)
- Engage and built trust with Category Heads, PPDS, etc. as business partner to ensure data integrity, etc.
- Engage and support the global process for pipeline valuation and business case analysis, to gain approval and consensus on NPD investment choices and development funding decisions & development

tracking.
- Lead coordination and giving functional guidance to the local controlling support in the corresponding development centers to ensure common practice and standardized processes. This to create transparency and allow for a cohesive management of Global Project budgets.
- Liaise and enable transparency between Global R&D/RMSC and other finance functions in Basel.
- Support any key strategic projects (M&A, Divesture) by providing a depth financial assessment and analysis as well as integration/Carve-out planning, etc.
- Ensure the effectiveness of compliance, controls, performance reporting & analysis, forecasting, budgeting and Strategic planning for all financial matters related to R&D and RMSC.
- Train and mentor GPLS and Innova budget owners on budgeting best practices, etc. to drive positive change, this creates overall awareness and positive engagement. It also emphasizes the One-team

spirit between the function and enabling functions.

**Who you are**
- Highly motivated person with proven leadership/people skills driven by innovation and collaboration
- Requires a minimum of 8 years of progressive financial experience and exposure to marketing and business operations in a consumer goods, OTC or pharmaceutical environment
- Must have in depth knowledge of financial planning, controlling and general accounting along with well-developed skills in financial analysis. (Charter Management Accountant)
- Competencies: Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills especially regarding evaluation of business cases, ability to successfully deal with multiple cultures on all levels of management globally
- Ability to communicate financial information within different hierarchy levels and backgrounds within the organization including the ability to influence, persuade, and collaboratively build relationships within the global organization.
- Special Skills: Advanced skills in data science and data analytics.
- In depth knowledge of Power BI and/or Tableau to drive digitalization of Finance organization
- Base skill requirement: MS Excel and other analytical systems (e.g.SAP BW, mySAP ERP, DataOne) as well as good understanding of the R&D and marketing terminologies
- Strong organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
- Advanced trouble shooting and multi-tasking ability. #LI-
