The** Director of the Frontline HealthWorkers Coalition** provides leadership for the Secretariat of the Frontline Health Workers Coalition (FHWC), an alliance of 40+ US-based and international organizations working together to urge greater and more strategic investments from multilateral and US government (USG) funders in frontline health workers in low
- and middle-income countries to save lives and foster a healthier, safer, and more prosperous world.
The Director leads and cultivates FHWC strategic direction, fundraising goals, and membership engagement; works closely with coalition working groups to oversee multilateral and USG engagement and advocacy strategies; oversees coalition events, activities, and strategic communications; and manages coalition operations.

**Essential Functions**:
- Lead and Cultivate Coalition Fundraising and Membership Engagement_
- Set fundraising priorities and targets and work with the Steering Committee to achieve them; support development of high-quality fundraising proposals, presentations, and budgets.
- Lead FHWC monthly meetings and biannual planning meetings, working with FHWC Steering Committee and its Chair to effectively mobilize members to achieve coalition goals.
- Work with FHWC Steering Committee to guide coalition’s strategic activities and priorities.
- Manage relationships and reporting with FHWC donors.
- Stay updated with global health trends, especially those affecting frontline health workers, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Assess the Coalition’s impact regularly and identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
- Oversee Multilateral and US Government Engagement and Advocacy Strategies_
- Work closely with Steering Committee and Working Groups to increase representation of FHWC with US government agencies; influential multilateral organizations; and country governments, ministries of finance and health, and health worker associations to facilitate coalition health workforce advocacy goals.
- Lead coalition efforts to increase advocacy through the UN system to ensure prioritization of health workforce in key guidance documents.
- Work closely with Policy Working Group co-chairs to oversee FHWC’s USG advocacy toward global health policy stakeholders, including USAID and other government agency political and technical leaders, congressional offices, non-governmental policy/advocacy alliances and roundtables, think tanks, and other influencers.
- Lead or Oversee Coalition Events, Reports, and Activities_
- Develop and/or facilitate FHWC events and partnerships (e.g., UNGA and WHA events, conference side events or sessions, special campaigns) to amplify messaging on the importance of investing in health workforce.
- Oversee and provide technical guidance to FHWC reports, policy analyses and recommendations, strategic communications, campaigns, statements and presentations, working closely with Technical, Policy, and Communications Working Groups.
- Manage Coalition Operations_
- Develop and track annual workplan based on biannual planning meetings and Steering Committee priorities.
- Manage and track FHWC budgets and member invoicing
- Manage or oversee other operations and logistics needs, based on Secretariat staffing, including for meetings, events, listservs, and special projects.
**Experience**:
- Bachelors Degree, Masters Degree preferred, in a related discipline.
- 8 to 10 years experience in global health policy, advocacy, communications, and partnership building, with a record of delivering high-impact results and visibility to mission-driven policy priorities
- 6+ years of experience in a senior leadership role, preferably in the global health sector.
- Strong understanding of global health challenges, especially as they pertain to frontline health workers
- Experience leading fundraising strategy development and execution. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans and manage large teams.
- Extensive knowledge of multilateral global health and development policy; presence in and understanding of the UN system
- Knowledgeable about USG global health and development policy, including of USAID, PEPFAR, PMI
