Purpose of role

Responsible for providing financial leadership and business partnering to the Product Supply (PS) function; including but not limited to forecasting, analysis, actuals reporting and controls.

Main Responsibilities

Supply Chain Financial Planning & Actuals Controlling

  1. Analyse monthly COGS (Cost of Goods) and Inventory actuals in collaboration with the relevant parties (plants, PS, SPD/Global Business Services Accounting). Pro-actively work with the parties to identify gaps, drivers behind the gaps. Propose solutions to address the gaps sustainably, structurally and in a timely fashion.
  2. Own the quarterly COGS forecast, including:
    1. Volume: understand and reconcile various sources of volume (production volume, trade sales, etc.)
    2. COGS by SKU (Stock Keeping Unit) database, reflecting latest business assumptions.
    3. Inventory forecast, ensuring consistency with trade sales and production plan.
    4. Deep understanding of business drivers behind each COGS bucket: plant variances, scrap, savings, transport costs, etc.
    5. Alignment with SPD management (CFO and Chief Supply Officer)
    6. Supporting the 5 Year Plan process with PS inputs
    7. Proposing and implementing continuous improvements to the forecast and actuals proofing processes, to make them more timely, efficient and accurate.

Supply Chain Financial Analysis

  1. Be the Finance “Business Partner” for PS
  2. In collaboration with Product Supply, identify, value and prioritize optimization/cost saving projects for all cost components (materials, freight, scrap, etc.). Utilise a broad set of analytical tools (benchmarking, loss analysis, trend analysis, variance analysis, etc.). Ensure all analysis is consistent, accurate and timely. Contribute to Cost Savings Summits on an annual basis.
  3. Annual assessment of overall SPD COGS structure, both on a macro-level and down to BOM (Bill Of Material) level for key products.
  4. Lead annual price setting with ADSH
  5. Support Purchasing for annual cost negotiations with key 3rd party suppliers and contract manufacturers.
  6. Support PS leadership with financial analysis for strategic Supply Network Redesign and Business Continuity projects.
  7. Own product costing for new product initiatives.
  8. Provide backup for cost/transfer price maintenance in SAP.

Stewardship

  1. Perform COGS actuals proofing and implement corrective actions.
  2. Oversight of COGS masterdata controls, in collaboration with SPD Accounting and the Financial Controller.
  3. Support the internal Control Self Assessments (CSA) program as needed.
  4. Support and provide timely/quality input to the Audit Process mainly focusing on COGS
  5. Perform Subpart F reporting to parent companies
  6. Ensure compliance with JV processes. Eg. STEAM, SPD Decision Authority, etc.

Take on additional roles/functions outside of their immediate responsibilities as required.

Person Specification

  1. Relevant university degree or equivalent.
  2. Relevant and extensive finance experience, with focus on Financial Planning, Controlling and Product Supply Finance
  3. Experience with international trade and manufacturing operations, with manufacturing operations (in-house and/or contract manufacturing)
  4. Affinity with and good knowledge of financial systems, preferably SAP, PowerBI, KNIME
  5. Competent in using all Microsoft tools, in particular MS Excel
  6. Solid accounting and internal controls skills
  7. Strong analytical & problem-solving skills; attention to detail.
  8. Accountable for results. Able to work with limited guidance.
  9. Experience in dealing with significant complexity in a fast-paced environment. Effective priority management is essential.
  10. Demonstrating personal initiative and autonomy.
  11. Strong team player; proven abilities in cross-functional collaboration.
  12. Ability to influence.
  13. Curious, creative, insightful. Can challenge status quo and recommend/design/implement new processes. Continuous improvement mindset.
  14. Fluent in English. Other languages are advantageous.
