Technical Knowledge Management Expert (f/m/d)

Established and very experienced expert, responsible for the maintenance and development of databases by focusing on performance, robustness, quality, and speed, acting on a global scope level. Uses professional judgment to perform technical system administration and development activities in different departments and sites. Operates in line with cGMP and/or customer requirements in respect of timing, accuracy, and availability of information. Functions equally as expert in the nomenclature process.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develops and maintains a global chemical knowledge management system.
  2. Validates the chemical database system independently.
  3. Does requirement engineering according to the need of diverse internal customers and system administrators.
  4. Substance Master Data Management: Adviser in the field of substance registration and chemical nomenclature.
  5. Plans, monitors and manages projects from initiation to implementation and is accountable for project results.
  6. Resolves issues during development or maintenance, directly communicating with the customer and other involved parties.
  7. Owns the nomenclature process and acts as a mentor in specialist area to junior and senior team members.
  8. Trains and supports new staff in the proper use of the global chemical knowledge management system.
  9. Anticipates, evaluates and implements trends and innovations in chemo-informatics.
  10. Queries databases to collate, analyze and summarize complex data for reports.
  11. Participates and prepares data for audits as required.
  12. Represents the team in cross-functional projects.
  13. Builds close working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.
  14. Provides technical expertise and consulting to technical and business decisions.
  15. Identifies, suggests, validates and implements programming solutions for scientific applications.
  16. Supports data analysis and has a good working knowledge of SQL.
  17. Digitalization and Data Science expertise are considered a plus.
  18. Maintains and establishes interfaces with other relevant information systems (e.g. SAP, LIMS) based on customer requirements to enable fast and robust data transfer as needed.
  19. Identifies and provides consultancy for programming solutions to increase efficiency of R&D and KM work streams.

Key Requirements:

  1. Master or PhD degree in information sciences, specialization in chemistry or biochemistry is an advantage.
  2. At least 5 years of professional experience in KM, innovation or digitalization, including management experience.
  3. Knowledgeable in information integrity and security.
  4. Conceptual and analytical skills and very high level of comprehension.
  5. Sound knowledge of content management and MS Office, DMS and SAP.
  6. Completion of core GMP training.
  7. Fluent in English and German.
  8. Works independently and solution-oriented.
  9. Structured, efficient, reliable, flexible and supportive.
  10. Service and team-oriented personality demonstrating safety awareness.

  6. Enable accurate and reliable information management and implement improvements in an independent and timely manner.
  7. Take responsibility and proactive measures to ensure databases and systems in his responsibility remain up-to-date and are continuously developed adopting to latest technical developments and regulatory requirements.

Skills:

  1. Highly organized and well documented work style.
  2. Good understanding of operations and approaches in process development, analytical development, Quality control and manufacturing.
  3. Good understanding of GMP and Data Integrity requirements.
  4. Proficient SAP use, sharing best practices.
  5. Good communication and coaching skills.
