Adjunct Lecturer - Digital Transformation/Emerging Technologies (UG and Graduate) Title: Adjunct Lecturer - Digital Transformation/Emerging Technologies (UG and Graduate) Teaching load: 36 hours (3 hours per week) Roles and Responsibilities Teach courses in an engaging and stimulating manner to graduate and undergraduate students. Organize the term thoroughly, prepare for class meetings, and encourage students' active participation in in-class and homework assignments. Conduct classes according to the set schedule and use the entirety of the class hours at their disposal; the class schedule cannot be altered or abbreviated. Keep current in the entrepreneurial ecosystem and effective teaching techniques. Prepare a comprehensive teaching plan and syllabus for each course, which shall be submitted to the administration before the start of the academic term. Prepare course material for all lectures and submit examinations for review at least one week before the set exam date(s) to the administration; the administration may assess the overall standard of course content and request necessary adjustments throughout the term if needed. Adhere to and strictly follow the grading, testing, and student evaluation system set and implemented by the administration. Return corrected students’ submissions, examinations, reports, evaluations, and grades within the given deadline set by the administration. Student Support Respond to individual student academic questions, dedicating time to meet with students outside the classroom during office hours. Undertake supervisory responsibilities for Capstone projects. Strategic Management and Administration Support HBS in the achievement of its mission and strategic aspirations. Contribute to processes related to course and program development and review. Take part in activities aimed at the enhancement of the quality of educational learning outcomes and faculty peer development. Attend faculty meetings. Required Qualifications Education: A minimum of a master’s degree in the field of the taught discipline. A doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in the field of the taught discipline is highly valued. Professional Experience: Substantial industry experience is required; a minimum of 5 years in the relevant field is expected, though this may vary based on the specific subject and level of instruction. Teaching Experience: While not always mandatory, prior teaching experience, especially in higher education or professional training settings, is desirable. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students is crucial. English Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential, as the institution operates in the English language. Strong written and verbal communication skills are vital for effective teaching and interaction with students. Subject Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and expertise in the specific subject area(s) being taught are necessary. Adjunct lecturers should be well-versed in the latest developments, trends, and best practices in their field of specialization. Preferred Qualifications Industry Connections: A network of professional contacts within relevant industries can enhance the learning experience by providing insights, internships, projects, or guest speakers. Teaching Innovations: Familiarity with innovative teaching methods, technology integration, and online teaching platforms can be beneficial, creating engaging and interactive instruction. Research and Publications: A record of research publications, conference presentations, or other scholarly activities can be advantageous, demonstrating a commitment to staying current in the field. International Experience: Experience working or studying in an international context, particularly in business or academia, is desirable, indicating cultural awareness, adaptability, and understanding of global business practices.
