Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will join the Robotic Systems Team as an experienced Robotic Systems Engineer, a role in which you will integrate our core technology and other sensors (Lidar, time-of-flight cameras) into various robotic platforms, transforming them into reliable smart robots that solve real-world tasks. You will work hands-on with the robots and help develop and extend our automated testing and verification pipeline. Furthermore, you will travel on-site to help customers integrate our product into their bespoke robotic platform. You will also be responsible for supervising and guiding interns. The work model for the role is hybrid. This role is contributing to the Sevensense Robotics Division in Zürich. You will be mainly accountable for:
- Developing system tools (e.g. system monitoring, integration), frameworks, and tests to facilitate system integration and to improve our automated tests suite (performance, fleet, endurance).
- Working hands-on with robots in-house or on the field to extensively verify the functionality, robustness and performance of the system.
- Taking ownership of internal technical projects or external customer-facing projects, as well as traveling on-site to customers and representing Sevensense by ABB.
- Collecting and communicating findings from tests and customer deployments to the product team, helping with product improvements.
Qualifications for the role
- Master's degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar experience with a focus on robotic systems.
- 2-3 years experience with deploying software on autonomous systems.
- Passion for robotic systems integration and working hands-on with robots.
- Proven experience with ROS, Ubuntu, Python and C++.
- Analytical and creative mindset with the ability to troubleshoot independently, solve complex problems, and implement innovative solutions.
- Team player who is excited about working in a dynamic work environment.
- Fluency in English and willingness to travel.
