The new team has three locations: Audi's Motorsport Competence Center in Neuburg (Germany), the Sauber Group's Formula 1 factory in Hinwil (Switzerland), and the Sauber Motorsport Technical Center, UK. Our Power Unit comes from Neuburg, while Hinwil is responsible for the development of the chassis and race operations. ResponsibilitiesContribute to the overall CFD process development in an F1 environmentHave an impact on how CFD technology is used by the whole aerodynamic departmentImprove the CFD physical modelling to increase the accuracy of the predictionWork closely with external software providers on specific development projectsHelp us set future directions and trends in advanced CFD methodsWork in an agile software development team QualificationsMSc or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or a related field with a strong focus on computational fluid dynamicsAt least 3 years of professional experience developing CFD methods in OpenFOAMPrevious F1 experience will be considered a plusKnowledge of high-Reynolds flows physics and turbulence modellingKnowledge of C++ and Python programming languagesFamiliarity with software release, update and deployment techniquesExperience in parallel computing and high-performance computing (HPC)Familiarity with developing software in Linux environmentsHard-working, independent and reliableSelf-motivating, responsible and meticulousOpen to share a continuous learning culture within the teamPromote a collaborative, respectful and trusting work environment within the teamProficiency in English language skills.
