Position Summary
We are looking for a Specialist Quantitative Microbiologist, to support the microbiologically safe design of products and processes through data analytics. You will perform microbiological food safety evaluations in response to technical assistance requests from R&D and operations.

A Day in the Life of a Specialist Quantitative Microbiologist
- Work with a team of microbiologists to help create a strategy to build, maintain, and expand the use of data to support microbiological risk assessment
- Collect, verify and analyze data related to microbial dynamics (e.g., growth, inactivation, and survival)
- Perform and communicate data visualization and predictive models for microbiology R&D projects
- Help design and analyze studies, using a range of statistical methods and software
- Collaborate with bioinformaticians and statisticians to model data trends
- Write scientific publications
- Coordinate with 3rd party microbiology laboratories
What will make you successful:
- PhD degree in Food Science/Microbiology/Biology with specific expertise in mathematics or PhD degree in Mathematics
- Expertise in food safety microbiology
- Relevant experience in a food science company, academia, or research center is preferred
- Experience in microbial data analytics including statistical and probabilistic approaches, data visualization and modeling, and the use of programming languages (e.g., R, Python)
- Experience in quantitative microbial risk assessment
- Evidence of communication - both verbal and in writing, of complex scientific information to specialist and non-specialists audiences
- Team player with a can-do attitude
- High level of motivation and adaptability
- Able to speak English fluently
