About the roleAs the Tax Manager, you act as the primary contact for all tax compliance and reporting matters globally, with a strong focus on Switzerland. The main focus of the role is to ensure compliance with both international and local tax compliance requirements. You will be working closely together with the external tax advisors.
Your responsibilities- Manage compliance and reporting obligations (both direct and indirect taxes) including but not limited to various tax filings, returns, transfer pricing documentation and response to tax queries.
- Take the lead in conducting tax audits and controversy including reviewing and providing requested documentation, maintaining audit files and working closely with Finance as well as with external tax advisors.
- Represent MS Re in front of the Swiss tax authorities with the support of the external tax advisors and proactively maintain a regular dialogue with key stakeholders to keep up to date with business developments and communicate corporate tax developments on a timely basis.
- Managing the quarterly tax accounting and reporting requirements for local accounts as well as for IFRS, Pillar 2 and tax risk assessment.
- Lead the tax risk management processes and the tax risk reporting.
- Provide tax recommendation to transactions/projects (including but not limited to acquisitions, liquidations, reorganizations, capital structures and financing) and working with business and other functions to ensure proper implementation in Switzerland.
- You have a degree in accounting, finance or law.
- A minimum of 3-7 years relevant work experience, having worked primarily at a Big 4 or a multinational corporation.
- You are a Swiss Certified Tax Expert.
- You have a strong knowledge in direct taxes as well as good knowledge in indirect taxes.
- You have relevant experience in insurance and reinsurance, having worked in the areas of Swiss GAAP / IFRS accounting. A good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles is an advantage.
- At the interface between economics and law, you have a flair for numbers, models and evaluations.
- You are detailed-oriented, have strong analytical skills and feel comfortable to work independently while meeting deadlines.
- You have strong communication and interpersonal skills and are capable of articulating complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
- You are fluent in English and German.
- You have a creative and innovative approach to tax structuring and problem solving.
- You are motivated, take initiatives and have a 'can-do' attitude.
