We are looking for a highly driven and motivated Process Development Scientist - Heterogeneous Catalysis.

As a Scientist/Lab Head, your role involves the development and transfer of innovative and cost-competitive catalytic approaches for F&F ingredients from lab to pilot and then further to production scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Designing and planning experiments for the assigned research projects.
  2. Testing of the catalysts in batch or under continuous operation aiming at developing the most suited process for scale up.
  3. Monitoring reactions and analysing compounds of interest applying classical and new analytical methods (GC, HPLC, NMR, FT-IR/NIR,…).
  4. Managing research projects during the development and industrialization phase.
  5. Participating as an active member of the global chemical and technology community.
  6. Meeting high environmental and safety standards in lab work as well as with respect to the developed processes.
  7. Writing of technical reports and reporting of work progress including presentation in project meetings.
  8. Maintaining a high level of expertise through the review of the current scientific literature (publication), industrial state-of-the-art (patents), and participation in scientific seminars and meetings.

You Bring:

  1. PhD in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with very good knowledge in Organic Chemistry.
  2. Passion for Process Development, Scale up, and Industrialization.
  3. Strong expertise in the use of heterogeneous catalysis for industry-relevant reactions.
  4. Hands-on experience in preparing, testing, and characterizing solid catalysts.
  5. Ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve results.
  6. Dynamic, open-minded, and creative thinker with a strong will to tackle new challenges.
  7. Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate in an interdisciplinary environment.
  8. Fluent in English (C1), proficiency in French is a plus.
