As part of Kartli International's strategy in Artificial Intelligence (AI), we are seeking a Head of AI Department for our headquarters in Zurich to lead the development and execution of AI-driven strategies in polymer trading.

This position involves overseeing AI applications in price forecasting, algorithmic trading, market intelligence, and supply chain optimization.

The ideal candidate must have deep expertise in machine learning, quantitative analytics, and trading technology, driving AI innovation to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.

What we expect

  • Define and execute the AI roadmap to drive data-driven decision-making in polymer trading.
  • Identify emerging AI trends and evaluate their applications in trading and commodity markets.
  • Work closely with trading, risk management, and supply chain teams to integrate AI-driven solutions.
  • In the long term, build a team of AI specialists, data scientists, and engineers to foster innovation.
  • Develop and refine machine learning models for price forecasting, leveraging historical data, macroeconomic factors, and supply-demand trends.
  • Implementation of algorithmic trading strategies, ensuring efficiency and profitability.
  • Build a pipeline of AI-powered market intelligence tools to extract insights from global news, policies, and competitoractivities.
  • Enhancing the company's investment appeal by building its reputation as an AI-driven polymer trading companyto attract additional investments and establish new industrial collaborations.
  • Implement predictive analytics models to optimize inventory, procurement, and logistics in polymer trading.
  • Develop AI-driven demand forecasting models to enhance supply chain resilience.
  • Drive automated decision-making systems to enhance trading speed and accuracy.
  • Establish a scalable AI data infrastructure, leveraging cloud computing and big data technologies.
  • Use AI to enhance credit risk assessment, fraud detection, and anomaly detection in transactions.

What we require

  • Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, Quantitative Finance, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in AI research, development, and implementation.
  • Proficiency in Python, at least one deep learning framework, cloud computing, and big data technologies.
  • Experience in reinforcement learning, algorithmic trading, risk modeling, and market simulation.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills in English and Russian.
  • Solid understanding of financial markets and the macroeconomic principles that drive them.
  • Knowledge of commodity trading markets, particularly polymers, petrochemicals, or energy.
  • Knowledge of the AI regulations in financial and commodity markets is advantageous.
  • Experience with blockchain and smart contracts for automated trade settlements.
