Head of Finance

Our client is an innovative and progressive private equity firm that is dedicated to creating long-lasting value for investors and businesses, focused on areas such as manufacturing, service, energy, healthcare, and various consumer industries. The successful hire would be responsible for defining and running all finance and operational related topics to help driving the firm to the next growth stage.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and shape a best-in-class finance and operation function and responsibility for overseeing the firm’s middle office.
- Act as a Sparring Partner to the Founders on regulatory, legal, and operational topics to ensure that the firm is following and achieving the growth plans, with a responsibility to drive strategic financial topics for the firm.
- Manage all aspects of finance (including accounting, budget preparation, and controls) for the company and the funds, in addition to accurate forecasting and reporting of financial statements.
- Act as the main point of contact for the finance departments of the Portfolio Companies; ensure they deliver what is needed.
- Responsibility for communicating numbers and the vision to relevant stakeholders; close collaboration with external providers such as Auditors and Tax Advisors (if needed).

HARD SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Extensive professional experience as CFO / Operations Manager (in Asset Management, exposure to PE, ideally direct investments, fund investments) with a proven track record in achieving strong commercial results and operational excellence.
- Broad and well-rounded expert knowledge in Accounting, Controlling, Forecasting, Financing, and Performance and Operational Improvement. Deep understanding of investment management industry standards and of the regulatory/legal framework and developments, especially related to Germany.
- Candidate following a “get-things-done” working attitude; significant management/leadership experience and the ability to deal with multiple stakeholders and to take the business to “new heights”.
- A strong educational background and fluency in English are essential for the role. Any other professional qualification (CPA/ACA-IFRS/CFA or CAIA), as well as German language skills and any additional language, are considered a strong plus.
