Join the most innovative company in Animal Nutrition & Health and Sustainability as a Senior Ruminants Scientist at dsm-firmenich in our Bovaer team.

As our Senior Ruminants Scientist, you will lead ruminant research activities with internal and external academic and commercial partners globally. As part of a cross-functional team, you will design a research program to successfully register and introduce Bovaer as a potentially societal game-changing product that significantly reduces enteric methane emissions from ruminants.

Your key responsibilities:

• Hold scientific responsibility in a global, cross-functional project team to design, monitor and document the research program leading to successful global registration and market introduction of a societal game-changing product which significantly reduces enteric methane output of ruminants.
• Have scientific responsibility and project lead for ruminant trials with external partners (universities, research institutes, CROs and commercial partners).
• Participate in scientific publications (abstracts, peer review papers, media/communication articles) and be present for internal & external presentations/training & technical support.
• Provide scientific support of marketing & sales forces at customer events and visits, scientific workshops, etc.
• Ensure availability of state-of-the-art scientific information whilst you continue to build and maintain a strong network in the respective scientific community.

You bring:

• Ph.D degree in at least one of the following areas: Animal Nutrition and Health, Veterinarian science, Animal Science/Nutrition, Rumen microbiology, animal science skills in dairy and beef and/or digestive physiology or related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in a relevant research arena (academic and/or industry) in sustainability, greenhouse gas emissions and enteric methane reduction.
• Strong project & trials management skills.
• Proven ability to design and remotely supervise research trials to interpret, discuss, write and present research results and reports.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to interact with external partners and to drive work without relying upon a hierarchical relationship.
• Ability to convey complex scientific ideas and concepts in a clear manner.
• Flexibility for business travel (domestic and international).
• English language skills both verbal and written. French/Spanish would be an added value.
• Statistical Analysis Skills.
• Knowledge about products/feed additive registration requirements, related experience/exposure (desirable).
