As Product Line Architect for Flow Devices, you are responsible for creating and implementing enterprise and system architecture for different portfolios of valve and damper actuators. You will be sharpening the technical vision, strategy and roadmaps for these portfolios and evaluate emerging technologies in the Building Automation Market. This role requires operational leadership to deliver high quality and scalable products and solutions fulfilling state-of-the-art cybersecurity requirements. As a member of the product line leadership team, you will lead a distributed team accountable for the entire product lifecycle, starting from product definition, development, support until end-of-life planning. In this role, you will be working with different stakeholders like enterprise, portfolio and product architects, product managers, project managers and developers. With a flair for mechatronic products and the expertise in the disciplines of software, hardware and mechanics, you will drive the creation of new and innovative devices. Location: this role will be based in Zug/Switzerland. Please note that qualified candidates need to be legally eligible for work authorization in Switzerland.

Your responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership for Product Line: As a member of the product line leadership team define the architectural runway, technology roadmap, cybersecurity, and ensure total cost of ownership and end-to-end architectural compatibility for HVAC field devices across different product families and different R&D sites.
  2. Enterprise and Systems Architecture: Define and implement the architecture for damper and valve actuator offerings, including software, hardware and mechanical components tailored to the lifecycle and stakeholder needs of building automation systems.
  3. Device Platform Architecture: Supervise and extend device platforms for HVAC field devices, serving as the foundation for developing interoperable, scalable, and innovative products.
  4. Leadership in Interdisciplinary Teams: Lead diverse and global teams across communication technologies, embedded HVAC devices, software, and IoT systems to create holistic solutions for building automation.
  5. Strategic Assessment and Integration: Evaluate organizational and market requirements, recommend cutting-edge IoT and wireless technologies, and design integrated systems to optimize HVAC system performance and business outcomes.
  6. Lifecycle-Oriented Development: Translate non-functional requirements like scalability, interoperability, and reliability into iterative, risk-based development processes, ensuring alignment with the evolving needs of HVAC and IoT ecosystems.
  7. Business-Driven Architecture: Guide business strategies in HVAC and building automation towards an architecture that delivers interoperable, wireless-enabled IoT products and systems for seamless operation.

Your skills and experience

  1. Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering or technology, preferably electrical & electronic engineering or information technology.
  2. At least five years of experience in systems engineering management, systems architecture, enterprise architecture.
  3. Experience in architecting mechatronic systems, field bus communication and systems.
  4. Experience in development of mechatronic products comprising of software, hardware and mechanics.
  5. Experience in establishing enterprise and systems architecture in products and systems development based on SAFe development process and method.
  6. Experience in different stages of product lifecycle, including plan, design, implementation, operation, etc.
  7. Very good understanding of the pertinent technologies and trends that reshape systems and enterprise architecture applied to building automation.
  8. Valuable skills in product management, general business management, strategic marketing.
  9. Preferably you bring domain knowledge in Building Automation, HVAC, Lighting, Shading, Fire Safety, Access Control and Security; Controls contracting business.
  10. Preferably you bring knowledge in product line engineering.
