Atlas Rulebook Architect – Governance and AI Integration Specialist

Role Overview:
We are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Atlas Rulebook Architect. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the project lead to craft the Atlas Rulebook—a comprehensive series of governance rules, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for MakerDAO. This position is integral to shaping the future of decentralized governance, integrating automation, and harnessing the power of AI to streamline and enhance our operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Documentation Development: Collaborate with the project lead to write, refine, and maintain comprehensive governance documentation, policies, and SOPs for the Atlas Rulebook.
  2. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with various internal and external stakeholders, including MakerDAO community members, developers, and governance experts, to gather insights and ensure the rulebook aligns with the needs of the DAO.
  3. Governance Rule Definition: Assist in defining, drafting, and iterating on the governance rules that will guide the operation of the DAO, ensuring they are clear, enforceable, and adaptable to future needs.
  4. AI and Automation Integration: Work alongside AI specialists to identify opportunities for integrating automation and AI into the governance framework, enhancing efficiency, and ensuring scalability.
  5. Research and Analysis: Conduct research into best practices in decentralized governance, AI-driven decision-making, and automation, applying these insights to the development of the Atlas Rulebook.
  6. Collaborative Design: Participate in workshops, brainstorming sessions, and reviews to co-create a governance framework that reflects the vision and values of MakerDAO.
  7. Continuous Improvement: Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of the Atlas Rulebook, making recommendations for continuous improvement and updates in response to emerging challenges and opportunities.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Experience in Governance: Proven experience in governance, policy development, or legal documentation, particularly within decentralized organizations or similar environments.
  2. Technical Writing Skills: Exceptional writing and editing skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, concise, and actionable documentation.
  3. Stakeholder Management: Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of effectively engaging and collaborating with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  4. Familiarity with AI and Automation: Understanding of AI and automation technologies, with an interest in applying these tools to governance and operational frameworks.
  5. Strategic Thinking: Ability to think critically and strategically about the future of decentralized governance, and to anticipate and address potential challenges.
  6. Adaptability: Comfort with working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where priorities may shift rapidly.
  7. Passion for Decentralization: A deep interest in DeFi, blockchain technology, and the principles of decentralized governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Background in Law, Political Science, or Public Policy: An academic or professional background in these areas will be highly advantageous.
  2. Experience in a DAO or Blockchain Project: Previous involvement in a DAO, DeFi project, or similar decentralized initiative is a plus.
  3. Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with smart contracts, blockchain protocols, and related technologies.
