Job Description:As a Senior IT Project Manager, you augment a high-profile team of business analysts, solution architects and developers working on a set of strategic initiatives for Commercial Insurance International Programs. You will take the responsibility for the project management and the delivery aspects of these initiatives throughout their entire lifecycle and work closely with both, our business and IT stakeholders. By collaborating with a variety of partners, internally and externally, you ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software products. You have a sound knowledge in both, IT and business/insurance industry and a vast interest to deepen your domain knowledge in Commercial Insurance and International Program business.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the operational management of distinct larger/complex projects, ensuring the overall project objectives and business cases are clearly defined and met.
- Develop a project management plan based on the agreed business case, manage and control project delivery in accordance with baseline parameters and standards to drive project success.
- Build and develop highly skilled and motivated project teams.
- Consider different methodologies together with the team and apply the best approach (e.g. on delivery, team organization, documentation) as suitable for the specific project and perform project management processes to initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control a project in accordance with the Zurich Project Management Framework.
- Balance the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk to produce the specified product, service, or result.
- Manage the project budget to track and forecast project spend.
- Prepare for and moderate Product Owner meetings and IT Executive reviews.
- Review the quality of deliverables and support the various operation teams in troubleshooting in case of system problems, and plan and manage the resources needed.
- Ensure change readiness of the receiving organization.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Information, or equivalent discipline required.
- 5+ years of proven hands-on project management experience in agile delivery environments and the ability to work under pressure while taking a leading role in a multi-vendor and multi-cultural team.
- Experience in the delivery of core business applications in a global, complex environment, preferably in the insurance segment.
- Strong understanding of systems development lifecycle, system implementation methodologies, and associated best practices.
- Track record of managing business stakeholders and suppliers and building and developing delivery teams at scale.
- Structured working approach, with strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Very strong ownership, proactivity, and communication skills.
- Balanced mix of business acumen and technology savviness.
- Very good English language skills are a must, written and spoken.
