Job Description:Requirements:
  • Strong experience in developing and operating distributed systems
  • Ability to create and realize a strategy for improving the operation of our system
  • Expertise in monitoring and CI/CD (e.g. GitLab)
  • In-depth experience with containerization (e.g. Docker) and service orchestration (e.g. Nomad)
  • Professional experience in Python, Linux and Bash
  • Good communication skills and ability to coach other team members on best practices
  • Swiss / EU citizenship or Swiss work permit
Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer to join our team of proud nerds, working on our Weather API - the centralized access point to petabytes of global weather data
  • As part of our API team, you will develop and maintain the back-end of the Weather API, ensuring trouble-free operation and access for our global customers.
  • Your responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the Weather API back-end as a member of a cross-functional scrum team.
  • Analyze business needs and develop well fitting solutions, shaping operational best practices as a core team member in a community of practice.
  • Strengthen the knowledge regarding operations within your team.
  • Improve existing pipelines and monitoring techniques to cope with the increasing load of the API.
  • Share responsibility for keeping the Weather API up 24/7 (on-call duty).
