Chef de Rang Restaurant The Old Inn, 8003 Zürich (ZH). Full‑time (80%-100%) shift work, immediate start, permanent employment. Responsibilities Station Management: Prepare, cook, and present dishes to the restaurant’s standards; maintain full control and organisation of assigned station; complete mise‑en‑place to a high standard and on time for service; communicate with sous‑chef and head chef regarding station needs. Quality & Consistency: Follow recipes, specifications, and plating guidelines precisely; ensure every dish meets the restaurant’s quality expectations before leaving the pass; taste dishes regularly and adjust seasoning/technique where required. Hygiene & Safety: Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation (HACCP compliance); ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of all ingredients (FIFO); respect health and safety standards at all times. Teamwork & Communication: Work collaboratively with kitchen team and support colleagues when needed; communicate clearly during service; keep calm under pressure; train and guide commis chefs or stagiaires working on the station. Operational Efficiency: Monitor stock levels for section; communicate shortages in advance; reduce waste and contribute to cost control; help develop new dishes or improvements when requested by head chef. Qualifications Work experience: More than 1 year. Education: Vocational education and training with Swiss Federal VET Diploma or equivalent.
