A few examples of your responsibilities
  • Build. No matter your seniority, you’ll experience tremendous autonomy, work on new features from the ground up, and enjoy extreme ownership of every stage to see with your eyes how code gets turned into a widely adopted product.
  • Grow. We believe the value of a tool lies in how and where it’s used. And by working across a wide array of tech stacks, you’ll master the art of selecting and using the right tools for every job. Whether it’s monolithic or microservices architectures, gRPC or REST APIs, Kubernetes or Docker VMs, Python or Rust, you’ll demonstrate that success isn’t just about using a great technology—it’s about the engineer who understands its purpose and potential.
  • Streamline. Are all these steps necessary? Could a shift in how services operate drastically cut maintenance time? Your main mission as a Bending Spoons engineer is to distill complexity into simplicity. Whether streamlining the CI/CD pipeline for faster deployment, crafting clean, maintainable code, or designing minimal architectures to maximize impact, your ability to simplify will help build scalable products with a robust, future-ready codebase.

  • Proficiency in English. You read, write, and speak proficiently in English.
  • You can work at least 20 hours per week. A full-time commitment is preferred, but we’ll consider applicants who can commit to at least 20 hours per week.

  • Competitive pay and access to equity in the company. Typically, we offer an individual at the start of their career a salary of £66,779 in the UK and €63,965 elsewhere. If they possess a few years of relevant experience, the salary on offer tends to be between £118,964 and £155,001 in the UK, and €105,737 and €143,330 elsewhere. Pay grows rapidly as you accumulate experience and translate it into greater impact. You can also receive some of your pay in company equity at a discounted price, thus participating in the value creation we achieve together. If relocating to Italy, you may enjoy a 50% tax cut.
