OverviewThe Quantum AI lab at ETH (Prof. Juan Carrasquilla) invites applications for a postdoctoral position to work at the intersection of computational quantum many-body physics, automated scientific discovery, and machine learning.In the wake of quantum mechanics' initial breakthroughs, researchers are entering a second quantum revolution. Quantum physicists are adopting machine learning to explore complex quantum systems, enabling advancements in materials science and quantum chemistry. Our lab's long-term goal is to advance these areas and extend the applicability of machine learning ideas to solving critical problems in quantum many-body physics with implications for condensed matter theory, machine learning, quantum materials, chemistry, and quantum technology.The role involves addressing fundamental questions such as how to best simulate strongly correlated quantum systems and harness the power of classical and quantum computing resources, and whether we can automate the scientific process to enable breakthroughs.
