Join our Supply Chain team and bring your passion and talent to work.Procurement Category Manager (Strategic Buyer) 100%Your contributionIn this role, you are responsible for specific direct material categories. You maintain the supplier portfolio and develop category strategies to find the best-fit suppliers and ensure cost-effective material availability for production in Switzerland, Austria, and the USA. You are the go-to person for supplier consolidation to leverage savings, establish economies of scale, and build long-term relationships. You will manage a global commodity category, including providing guidance for purchasing volumes.Procurement market research, classification of potential suppliers, and evaluation and development of existing suppliers.Development and implementation of procurement strategies for assigned suppliers and categories, focusing on machined parts and plastics.Identification and realization of potential cost savings.Negotiation of contracts according to company regulations.Serving as the contact person for procurement-related questions to upstream and downstream departments.Advising project purchasing and R&D on the allocation of parts and assemblies to suitable suppliers.Ensuring and continuously improving procurement and logistics processes.Maintaining material availability and developing the supplier base in response to demand changes.Your backgroundWe’re not just looking for hard skills: We’re seeking passionate and talented individuals.Technical education plus further training in Category Management / Strategic Procurement.Experience in Category Management / Strategic Procurement within a technical industrial company.Solid understanding and technical knowledge of machined tool parts and plastics is a major asset.Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.Excellent knowledge of the national and international supplier markets.What makes working at Tecan uniqueThe opportunity to make a difference and impact the future.Work in an international and diverse environment.Opportunities for career growth within the company.Empowered by our strong and unique company culture.Comprehensive compensation and benefits package.Join Tecan, a great place to work Read about our recent certification from Great Place to Work.We look forward to your online application.
