Mission At EPFL, philanthropy plays a pivotal role in advancing world‑class research, education, and innovation. We are seeking a seasoned Team Lead Senior Fundraiser for new business development and donor outreach to expand our network of philanthropic partners and drive transformational philanthropy. Main Duties And Responsibilities Manage and mentor a small team, developing their skills while fostering collaboration. Co‑develop and execute fundraising strategies in collaboration with key internal stakeholders. Drive and support new philanthropic partnerships, and accompany Philanthropy Managers in portfolio expansion. Cultivate, renew, and solicit major gifts in collaboration with senior leadership and team. Contribute to proposal development and presentation materials. Oversee negotiation and support contractual processes to ensure documentation and compliance. Adopt stewardship efforts and deliver stewardship activities consistently. Ensure accurate donor and prospect information entered in the CRM. Plan and execute high‑level donor engagement events aligning with fundraising goals. Generate regular reports on fundraising progress, donor engagement, and pipeline activity; update leadership on key metrics. Represent the philanthropy team when required. Perform other duties as required by the Director of Philanthropy or senior leadership. Education and Experience Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Communications, Business Administration, STEM, or related field, plus significant philanthropy experience in a complex academic or research environment. At least 12 years of progressively responsible fundraising experience, with a proven track record of securing major gifts for research or educational institutions. Minimum 7 years managing and developing a team of fundraisers or advancement professionals. Exceptional communication and relationship‑building abilities, engaging high‑net‑worth individuals, foundations, and C‑level executives. Desired: experience within research or higher‑education context. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment. Competencies Bilingual French‑English (other languages a plus). Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Skills Strong leadership skills. Strategic thinker. Ability to navigate a multilayered, decentralized organization. Solid understanding of an academic environment. Detail oriented. Resilience under stress.
