Our client is the government department of an international bank in Zurich. We are looking for a compliance specialist (m/f/d) as Business Risk Analyst Compliance. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with banking law regulations, regulatory requirements and internal rules in a 2nd line of defense (2nd LoD) function. Ensure an independent compliance function (e.g. MiFID, AML, market conduct rules and ESMA’s technical implementation standards, EU‑MAR) and its effectiveness in operational business areas, including cross‑border business. Ensure compliance with international cross‑border regulations and further develop internal rules and processes. Control compliance risks, ongoing evaluation of regulatory updates and assess possible effects, advising senior management. Implement a risk‑oriented control programme. Provide regular, meaningful reporting to senior management to support decision‑making by the executive board. Maintain unrestricted rights to information, inspection and auditing in business functions and IT systems. Cooperate with financial market supervisory authorities on regulatory issues and coordination work. Monitor regulatory changes, communicate new developments and prepare analyses of possible impacts on the bank. Conduct target‑group specific training courses. Manage ad‑hoc projects. Qualifications Master’s or PhD in Law or Economics. Additional qualifications in compliance or governance. Professional experience in banking auditing in a large company as a manager or senior manager, in the business risk department of an international bank or in the compliance department of a financial market supervisory authority or the European Central Bank (ECB). Specialisation as a 2nd line of defense (2nd LoD) in financial market regulation and interest in the impact of regulatory changes on banking operations. Knowledge of e.g. MiFID, AML, market conduct rules and ESMA’s technical implementation standards, EU‑MAR regulations. Experience in project management and implementation of regulatory projects. Knowledge of regulatory requirements in Switzerland and Liechtenstein as well as European regulation. Analytical, proactive personality with practical, solution‑ and results‑oriented mindset and team orientation. Interest in coordination activities and giving presentations.
