Role Overview
The HR Manager implements the company’s strategy and drives and manages the local HR function to ensure the provision of solid HR practices and processes. This role will provide support to the leadership and management team and the full workforce to achieve current and future business objectives.
The HR Manager will provide excellent HR support to the Operations, Sales and R&D functions at the Füllinsdorf site, building strong functional relationships with the Plant Manager, Head of Sales and R&D Manager and management team as well as wider divisional and Group stakeholders.
The HR Manager will be supported by an HR Administrative Assistant.
Work Environment: This role is based on-site at our plant in Füllinsdorf, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and guidance to the local leadership and management team and wider workforce in all aspects of the full employee life cycle such as attraction & recruitment, training & development, performance & talent management, compensation & benefits, including payroll and time management, employee relations and HR administration.
- Consistent and proper deployment of all HR corporate and divisional processes and policies such as Performance Management, Talent Review, Annual Salary reviews, Bonus process etc. by providing guidance and counselling to line managers.
- Execute the corporate and divisional strategy whilst reviewing, improving and implementing local HR standards and policies, including handbook and employment terms.
- In close collaboration with local leaders, implement change initiatives and guide managers and employees in transition times.
- Promote best HR practices, business partner and foster collaboration across the different functions at site and divisional and Group stakeholders.
- Support the business in attracting and recruiting the right talent, appraising and managing performance, rewarding, dealing with employee relations, designing development plans and retaining employees; building an agile and flexible workforce equipped to face the challenges of the future.
- Supervise the payroll process, the provision of effective HR administrative support and of personal data in accordance with Swiss labour law, including monthly payroll cycle.
- Be an active contributor in divisional human resource initiatives and projects ensuring their successful implementation at local site.
- Create, maintain and control the HR budget, forecast and cost performance including planning processes.
- Weekly and monthly reporting on HR/People data, KPIs, reporting and input for monthly business review in close collaboration with Plant Manager and Finance Manager.
- Continuously drive and improve employee engagement and the culture journey; deliver annual IMI Way Day and follow up on employee feedback and implement action plan.
- Supervise, induct and foster young talent, including apprentices and Graduates.
- Manage, develop and engage with own team members and further establish an efficient and flexible HR function providing world class service.
- Be an ambassador for HS&E and drive inclusion & diversity.
Critical Competencies For Success
- University degree with a focus in Human Resources Management or similar field preferred.
- Broad and in-depth HR Generalist/Business Partner experience with solid operational and strategic understanding of the core HR disciplines.
- Experience within an international or matrix environment with the ability to operate within a fast-moving high-volume manufacturing/industrial business.
- Experience in supporting, advising, coaching and influencing managers and employees on HR matters.
- Strong organisational and administrative capability, with a track record of delivering results in a timely and qualitative manner.
- Solid knowledge of Swiss labour law.
- Strong project management skills from planning through to execution.
- Verbal and written fluency in German, English; good knowledge of French a plus (one site located in the CH-FR area).
